At the 4th International Turkish-Speaking Countries Medical Congress (TÜRKTIP2026), held from 8 to 11 October 2026 in Antalya, TKHD President Dr Sead Zeynel and General Secretary Dr Onur Dika represented North Macedonia in the international scientific community.
The most important outcome for our association and our country was the decision that the 5th International Turkish-Speaking Countries Medical Congress (TÜRKTIP2027) will be organized in North Macedonia. This is an important achievement for the visibility of North Macedonia in international medical cooperation.
Scientific participation and organizational roles
The congress, organized under the slogan “We Are Stronger Together”, included 59 scientific sessions and 164 presentations. According to public reports, a total of 607 physicians and academics attended from Türkiye, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Balkan countries.
Dr Sead Zeynel served as one of the five general secretaries of the congress, delivered a speech at the opening programme, and chaired the panel Respiratory Failure: The Critical Decision Between Intubation, NIMV and HFNO. Dr Onur Dika contributed as a member of the organizing committee and held international professional meetings throughout the congress.
Why this matters
Hosting TÜRKTIP2027 in North Macedonia is expected to strengthen academic collaboration, expand professional networks and create new opportunities for young physicians and healthcare professionals in the region.
